These documents are for use in creating inventory lists of property, vehicles, firearms and watercraft. The purpose behind it will be for residents to be able to create lists with serial numbers that they can keep in a secure location in the event of theft. The police will not have access to their completed documents and it will be the owners responsibility to store the completed documents in a safe location. The lists will enable reporting to both the police so items can be entered onto the police data base so if the items are found they may be returned to the owners as well as for reporting to insurance companies in the event of a theft. These lists prove very valuable during investigations and can assist police in being able to lay charges.
